33 museums and cultural relics have been listed for major fire hazards

The Security Committee Office of the State Council has listed and supervised 33 major fire hazard units in museums and cultural relics.

Recently, the Office of the Security Committee of the State Council issued a notice to supervise 33 museums and cultural relics across the country with major fire hazards.

In accordance with the deployment of the Ministry of Emergency Management, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage to carry out large-scale fire safety inspections of museums and cultural relics, since September 2018, the fire, cultural and cultural relics departments of all provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) have conducted fire safety inspections on 71300 museums and cultural relics. Building units have conducted fire safety inspections, and more than 101000 fire hazards have been found, and more than 93000 have been rectified. In order to strengthen the warning and promotion, according to the work arrangement of the major inspection, the Office of the Safety Commission of the State Council has carried out listing supervision on 33 major fire hazard units of museums and cultural relics reported by various localities.

The Office of the Security Committee of the State Council requires that all localities clarify the rectification responsibilities of relevant governments, departments, and museums and cultural relics and building property rights, management, and use units, and urge units to achieve the "five implementation" of rectification responsibilities, measures, funds, time limits, and plans. Do not let go of implementation, and do not let go of hidden dangers. Units with major fire hazards that have not been rectified within the time limit shall be punished in accordance with the law, and resolutely put an end to long-term delays and disasters.

The Security Committee Office of the State Council emphasized that if a fire occurs due to inadequate work and failure to implement measures, it will be held accountable. All localities should strengthen the follow-up guidance on the rectification of hidden dangers, and the Security Committee Office of the State Council will timely inspect and guide the listing and rectification.
